American Society of Contemporary Artists (ASCA) AWARD

Irwin and Florence Zlowe ASCA Memorial Award from the American Society of Contemporary Artists (ASCA)

Imelda Cajipe Endaya received the Irwin and Florence Zlowe ASCA Memorial Award from the American Society of Contemporary Artists (ASCA)f or superior achievement, during ASCA's 90th Annual Art Exhibition held on November 2008 at the Broome Street Gallery. Her winning piece was "Forest of the South".

Harriet Febland, ASCA’s 3-term President Emeritus wrote of her work:
“Cajipe Endaya‘s femininity, her strength, is the foundation of what she creates. Its impact is immediate--- we are made aware of powerful colors, multiple patterns upon patterns, textured cloth and designed papers, tactile and touchable, buttons and strings. All of these are factors of her environment, her people, her country and the women, men, and crafts that surround her. They, combined with the story she tells makes her work the success it is--- a powerful statement by an outstanding Filipino artist in her prime.”
